News reports seek to ascribe meaning to each day’s market moves. Yet even Keynes warned against treating the market as representing a single, well-informed analyst. Market structures and regulations and the vast amount we don't know about the future mean the market can move even when there is no new information and market prices can provide poor signals of future economic outcomes.
